A beautiful ode to Alberta!
Made with love by Leaves of Canada (Toronto, ON).
Beautiful Fact - Lodgepole Pine has serotinous cones that must be exposed to high temperatures in order to open and release seeds. This is why it is referred to as a “fire dependent” species as it requires wildfires to maintain a healthy population. Another adaptation of the Lodgepole is the thin bark that minimizes the tree’s defence against fire thus further insures its ability to regenerate and maintain its place in the forest habitat.
Leaves - The leaves are needle-like, paired and often twisted, and 3-7 cm long.
ABOUT THE PAPER -
- The papers are made in small batches at a Montréal-based mill using recycled, unbleached fibers from textile industry offcuts and flax straw.
- The unbleached papers vary slightly in colour from batch to batch. Due to the beautiful texture created with the mix of materials, the paper has a certain depth and colour to it.
Wrapped in a plant-based, compostable protective sleeve and shipped to you in fully recyclable packaging
All illustrations are created by Dilan Doty (Leaves of Canada).
PLEASE NOTE - This print comes unframed.
